My name is Flavio Martins and I am a portrait photographer in West Palm Beach, FL. My passion is photographing people. My goal is to help my clients promote themselves or their business by providing top quality images that will capture the attention of the viewers. 

I was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where I lived until the age of 10. At the age of 13, I moved to the United States after a short 3-year residency near London, England. I got into photography very early through my dad, who was a serious hobbyist and would take me into his darkroom back in Brazil as he developed his black and white images. He taught me the basics and gave me my first SLR, a Canon FTb all manual film camera. With that camera, I started learning the art of capturing images on film. Later I upgraded to the excellent canon A1E, which I used until I got my first digital camera. That camera was the Nikon D70s. This camera was the perfect tool to enter the digital world.

I am self-taught in the sense that I did not go to school for photography, but all that I have learned has been from the experience of others. Through books, workshops, websites, or videos, I have filled a substantial bag-of-tricks from which I can draw tools for creating exceptional images. Today, I am confident that what I have learned throughout this journey allows me to offer my clients not just pictures, but solutions to fit their needs beyond their expectations, whatever those needs may be.
